# Attribute Value type Reference Sets

An Attribute Value type Reference Set allows associating a value concept with the referenced component. It can be used for a range of purposes where there is a requirement to provide additional information about particular concepts, descriptions, or relationships. The value applied to the referenced component is from the Attribute Value subhierarchy.

To create a new Attribute Value type Reference Set, right-click on the Attribute type navigational node and select the ![](/files/Hv6SX1PxDgzggclrPd82) *New attribute value type reference set...* Context Menu option.

Members can be added the same way as to a Simple type Reference Set. In the Add New Reference Set Wizard, you will need to specify a value for the referenced component.

{% hint style="info" %}
When adding multiple members at the same time, each will receive the same value specified in the Add New Reference Set Wizard.
{% endhint %}

It is also possible to change the module and the value of the Reference Set member by selecting the module/value cell and clicking on the<img src="/files/-MWTc4W82jgeFI3QPVZj" alt="" data-size="line">box to invoke the module/value picker.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.b2ihealthcare.com/snow-owl-authoring-platform/reference-sets/reference-set-types/content-type-reference-sets/attribute-value-type-reference-sets.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
