# Import UMLS (Unified Medical Language System) code systems are supported by Snow Owl in read-only mode. To obtain the UMLS content to be imported, please visit their [website](https://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/licensedcontent/umlsknowledgesources.html) and download the *`Full Release`* archive. The full release includes their *`NLM MetamorphoSys`* tooling, which allows the creation of a customized subset with only the code systems required to be imported to Snow Owl. When selecting the export format for the code systems, choose the RRF files.
