Assigning Tasks

There are three main roles that can be assigned:
Authors
Reviewers
Another reviewer
The list of users that can be assigned to a role depends on the permission associated with those users.
Authors: users with Edit permission
Reviewers: users with Browsing permission
Another reviewer: users with Promote permission
To assign Author(s), click on the button. Users can be filtered by typing text in the entry field on the top of the wizard. There's also an Assign to me
option.
Author(s) must be assigned prior to working on the given task. Reviewers can be either assigned before starting the authoring phase or later after the Author finished authoring.
Once the reviewer is done reviewing, another reviewer can be assigned by clicking the Request another review
button in the Task Editor. Only users with promotion roles are considered valid users for the second reviewer role. The selection of a second reviewer is optional if the first reviewer already has promotion rights. In that case, they can simply proceed with the task promotion. This enables both single review and dual sequential review workflow scenarios.
Users with promote rights may be assigned as Lead reviewer
. Lead reviewers receive an internal flag that distinguishes them from other reviewers making it possible to create task queries based on this additional property.
Users who have the necessary rights are still able to promote task changes without having this distinctive mark.
If a user with promote rights clicks the Assign to me
button at the Reviewers section, a dialog appears asking whether the user wants to be a lead or normal reviewer.
Lead reviewers receive a medal icon next to their username and review status in the Requested reviews section.
The Edit Requested Reviews Wizard has been adjusted to this change. Reviewers and Lead reviewers can be added/removed at any point via the wizard.
The Lead review checkbox is enabled only for users who have the right to promote.
When a reviewer without rights to promote approves task changes, the Request another review
button becomes available in the Actions section. In the Request Another Review Wizard, a user with promote rights can be assigned as Lead reviewer.
The number of assigned Authors and Reviewers is optional, but the same user cannot be assigned to more than one role.
Users can be organized into customer-specified groups/roles (there are four default roles: Administrator, Browser, Editor, Reviewer).
Roles can be associated with multiple permissions.
