# Resource Visibility

Resource maintainers can decide who can view their resources by choosing one of the visibility options.

| Visibility  | Description                                                                                                                                                     |
| ----------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Private** | Accessible only by the resource owner, maintainers, and by users with whom access is explicitly shared. Owners and maintainers can choose who can edit or view. |
| **Public**  | Viewable by any user. Owners and maintainers can choose who can edit or view.                                                                                   |

Resource visibility can be specified in two ways: in the resource creation wizard and on the ***Sharing*** tab.&#x20;

### Set visibility during resource creation

The resource creation wizard has a dedicated section where the visibility of the newly created resource can be specified.&#x20;

### Change visibility on the Sharing tab&#x20;

The ***Sharing*** tab of a resource also has a section at the bottom of the page dedicated to changing the visibility.

The section displays the current selection along with a hint about the setting itself.&#x20;

Clicking the![](https://content.gitbook.com/content/mtqpPjWCd58lq3KcPQAE/blobs/yTmMzCpYsDEEk3AgYCIR/change_visibility_button.png)button will reveal the corresponding context menu, where the setting can be modified.
