# Inactive content

Value Sets might contain inactive references, which are identified and flagged on the Content tab of the resource.

Replacements are auto-selected in case of available inactivation replacement associations. Otherwise, users can pick their preferred concepts using the quick search widget on the right-hand side.

Auto-selected concepts can also be overwritten by selecting another concept from the drop-down.

The upper section of the wizard displays how the clause will look like using the replacements.

You can switch between the original and current states of the clause to reveal the differences.

Once the replacements are selected, pressing ![](https://848337088-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FNfVt73uJmV35VTVsq2mk%2Fuploads%2FTnJ5xOMmQJMIcO5dGc4g%2Freplace_button.png?alt=media\&token=ec07e6ac-9d00-4977-bb99-f76cb19fe947) will make the necessary changes and the definition list will be updated accordingly.
